Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Nonsense Audio is Jacob Maynard, a sole trader in Missouri, USA, doing business as Nonsense Audio (“we”, “us”). This policy covers nonsense.audio and anything you send us through it. We collect very little, and we never sell any of it.
What we collect
If you join the list: your email address, which form on the site you used, the country your connection came from (read from the request, not asked for), and when you signed up.
When you visit: which pages you looked at, the site that sent you here, your country, and your browser, operating system and kind of device. We count this with Plausible, which we run ourselves. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address: it tells one visit from another by a hash of your IP address and browser that is salted with a value thrown away every day, so nobody, us included, can follow a visitor from one day to the next.
Request logs: when our server handles a request, such as counting a visit or adding you to the list, it keeps a technical record of it, which can include your IP address, for at most seven days, so that we can fix it when something breaks.
If you email us: your address and whatever you write.
The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or social media trackers.
What we use it for
- To email you when a plugin is out: one email each. This is the only thing your address is used for, and every email we send has a link that takes you off the list.
- To see how many people visit, where they come from and what they read.
- To keep the site working and stop people abusing the signup form.
- To answer you when you write to us.
Who else handles it
Nobody buys it, and nobody uses it for their own purposes. Two services handle it for us:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores the list and keeps the request logs.
- An email delivery service sends the emails to the list, and uses your address only to deliver them.
Visit statistics stay on our own server. We will disclose information if the law requires it, and if Nonsense Audio is ever sold, the list goes with it under this same policy.
How long we keep it
Your email address stays on the list until you leave it or ask us to delete it. Request logs are gone within seven days. Visit statistics hold no IP address or anything else that identifies you, and we keep them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email support@nonsense.audio and we will do it within 30 days.
In the EU, the UK and the EEA: Jacob Maynard is the controller of your personal data. We keep your email address because you gave it to us for that purpose (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by leaving the list), and count visits and keep request logs because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and keeping it working. You may also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, and complain to the data protection authority where you live.
In California: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for anything beyond what is listed here.
Where it is kept
Nonsense Audio is in the United States, and so is our analytics server. Cloudflare and the email delivery service may handle data in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards the law asks of them for international transfers, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has joined the list, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. If a change affects how we use the email addresses already on the list, we will email the list before it takes effect.
