Epoch
A voice re-pitched one cycle at a time. Pitch, formants and harmonics, moved apart.

A grain the length of one cycle
Epoch finds the pitch of what you feed it and marks every cycle. Everything it does is done to those cycles: laid closer together to raise the pitch, read faster to move the formants, moved by whole steps of the fundamental so harmonics stay harmonics. Pitch and formant come apart, so a voice can drop an octave and keep its mouth, or keep its note and change its throat.
It opens already doing something: an octave down, the formants where they were, a little wide. A bigger singer, on anything sung. Plug in a MIDI keyboard and the notes take over, a voice per note, up to four.
If you know Polyverse’s Manipulator, this is that engine with every knob labeled in units: semitones, steps, cycles, milliseconds. Measured side by side, a shift leaves about 17 dB less mess between the harmonics, and it costs about 40 % less CPU.
